When I founded microtom® in 2014, my vision was to build a workplace for individuals passionate about information technology, fostering a social culture where everyone is valued irrespective of their background or role.
We are a place where people can grow. In return for their loyalty, passion, hard work and belief in microtom®, my first two employees are now my managing partners. I truly want to give my employees the assurance of my time, so my door is always open for them.
As a small giant, the company is growing steadily, without any outside investments. I would never have imagined how we developed over the past decade. Therefore I would like to thank everyone involved for their wonderful support!

Chiara, microtom®’s first and finest, embarked on her journey with us in 2016 as a Software Developer. After finishing her Apprenticeship at F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Switzerland, her academic quest in Computer Science took flight at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland, paralleling her pioneering days at microtom®.
Chiara isn’t just a loyal and passionate team player; she’s a veritable trailblazer in business acumen and innovation- a combination that’s as refreshing as an unexpected chuckle in a boardroom. Her dedication and flair for leadership haven’t gone unnoticed. In recognition, she ascended to the role of Managing Partner in 2024, infusing the microtom® Leadership Team with her unique blend of expertise and esprit.
Tom has been a member of the first hour. Mainly because he founded the company in 2014 (literally in his garage).
His professional experience developed from designing and building large-scale infrastructure (today also known as “private cloud”) for companies like Microsoft, IBM, Roche or Novartis. His passion for IT started in his early childhood, around the time when Computer systems like Commodore 64, Atari and Amiga where a thing.
Growing up in a small village out of Basel, Switzerland, he always aimed to follow his Dad’s legacy who was a self employed book binder and his beloved mother, who was a gifted frame maker in the family business.
Technology is running through his veins and yet he knows how to distinguish between mayflies and promising technologies.
Alex is a key member of our team who joined microtom® in 2017. microtom®’s second employee, has been instrumental in guiding our company’s evolution and setting standards of excellence in pharmaceutical packaging, track and trace serialization and label management.
His professional journey is marked by significant contributions to global serialization system rollout teams. He led the implementation of sophisticated infrastructure and track and trace applications.
A graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics from the Cooperative State University Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Alex has effectively merged his robust technical knowledge with exceptional analytical skills to meet the dynamic challenges of the industry. Beyond his technical achievements, he is also a dedicated family man renowned for his strong social skills, making him a respected leader and warm hearted colleague.
